- eMCOS has a proprietary semi-priority-based scheduling algorithm (Japanese patent numbers 5734941 and 5945617). Along with high performance and scalability, these technologies also ensure the real-time performance that is essential in mission-critical embedded systems.
- Based on the multikernel technology, all threads can communicate much more independently from each other compared to a single microkernel RTOS. Therefore, the freedom from interference (FFI) is much higher as is the functional safety of the complete embedded application.
- eMCOS POSIX is an eMCOS profile that conforms to POSIX 1003.13 PSE 53 and enables multiprocess programming. By using the highly portable POSIX application interface, functions found in a variety of already available libraries of e.g. general purpose operating systems such as Linux and Android can be easily implemented in the system.
