Product information

The UAD3+ (Universal Access Device 3+) is the high-end trace device of the UDE® debugger system for efficient debugging, tracing and flash programming with support for multi-device debugging.

The UAD3+ complements the UDE® Universal Debug Engine as a high-end hardware platform for the powerful trace capabilities of the UDE® debugger tool, enabling robust, efficient and fast communication with supported architectures and controllers. Using different trace pods connected to the UAD3+ base unit, trace data can be recorded via high-speed parallel and serial trace interfaces from various on-chip trace sources such as AURIX™ MCDS, Arm® CoreSight™ or NEXUS Class 3. Depending on the trace interface used, up to 8 GB of trace memory is available in the UAD3+ base unit for storing the recorded trace data.

Thanks to the additional Ethernet interface, the UAD3+ is perfectly suited as a remote trace tool and can be used, for example, in HIL systems.

UAD3+ Features:

  • Host interfaces: USB and Gigabit-Ethernet
  • Proven adapter solution for fastest and reliable target access: DAP, SWD, JTAG, JTAG, LPD
  • Up to 160 MHz shift clock and 1.65 V – 5.5 V I/O voltage
  • Separate JTAG extender pods connected to UAD3+ base device allow up to 5 meters distance to the target
  • Electrically isolated target adapters as option
  • Separate trace pods connected to the UAD3+ by a gigabit serial multi-lane cable with length up to 5 meters
  • Up to 4 GB trace buffer
  • 500MHz parallel trace.
  • AURORA serial high-speed trace with up 3.125 Gbit/s or up to 12.5 Gbit/s transfer speed
  • Optional UAD3+ Serial Trace Pod 100G with up to 100 Gbit/s bandwidth
  • Multitarget debugging: Up to eight targets simultaneously in a shared debugger session
  • Synchronized Multi-AURIX Debugging

The UDE® Multi AURIX debug solution supports AURIX™ systems with two separate microcontrollers (MCUs) within one target system. It is intended, among other things, for debugging and testing of applications where highest degrees of functional safety and fault tolerance are achieved by redundancy of MCUs.

The UAD3+ Multi AURIX Debug Adapter is an adapting solution and extension for the UAD3+. It enables synchronized debugging of AURIX multi-chip systems with two tightly coupled AURIX™ MCUs (e.g. Infineon’s Automotive Ethernet Gateway Evaluation Board) in one common debug session.

  • Synchronous stop, single step and restart of two AURIX™ microcontrollers
  • Synchronized suspend of peripherals ensures always consistent target state while debugging
  • Seamless integration into UDE® Universal Debug Engine
  • Synchronization of both CPUs with minimal delay (approx. 20 clock cycles @ 300 MHz CPU clock)
