• Is a quality assurance and assessment test center for embedded systems
• Monitors and optimizes hardware and software of about 200 Linux and other computer systems
• Ensures general reliability and stability and provides fine-tuning of individual systems
• Helps companies select the most appropriate embedded system for a particular application
• Offers a wide variety of research opportunities for scientific studies
• Rack space is included in the regular OSADL membership

The OSADL real-time Linux services (www.osadl.org/rt)

• Are based on the PREEMPT_RT patches recently integrated into the mainline Linux kernel
• Help companies get the most out of Linux-based real-time systems
• Include kernel additions to detect the origin of unsatisfying real-time behavior (“latency fighting“)
• Are closely coordinated with the Linux Foundation RTL Collaborative Project and include funding of the work

The OSADL OPC UA PubSub over TSN project (www.osadl.org/opcua)

• Is a community project for a standard Open Source real-time communication stack via Ethernet
• Is closely related to the open62541.org project on an Open Source implementation of OPC UA PubSub
• Includes full state-of-the-art TSN support of the Linux kernel
• Uses the OSADL QA Farm to continuously monitor the real-time performance of the implementation

Safety and security topics

• Are based on the SIL2LinuxMP project documents to be used for safety certification
• Support methods and strategies to develop secure embedded systems
• Include services to ensure embedded systems withstand cyber attacks
• Help improve organizational processes for safety and security

OSADL Events

• OSADL offers a broad range of training courses, seminars and workshops (online, in-house or in Heidelberg)
• They cover legal and technical aspects of using Open Source software in industry
• Current topics include real-time Linux latency fighting, license compliance, advanced network protocols, software scanning with FOSSology, security challenges of embedded systems, safety certification of Open Source software, etc.
